TV Series: 霹靂MIT Pi Li MIT (Mysterious Incredible Terminator)

and ta da! I have a new obsession! Very very cool drama! I'd say what initially attracted me to this drama was the genre, I tend to like mystery/suspense. That'd be reason number 1, and well, reason number 2, it's cause Aaron Yan is in it. Initally, I was not entirely impressed with Aaron's acting, his character Zhan Shi De (007) was rather dull and lacked emotion. Also, it seemed to be a total opposite of the impression of what I get from Aaron when I watch interviews and such. In real life, Aaron seemed to be rather childish, and suddenly, in this drama, he's totally more mature. It was almost as if the role didn't seem to suit him. However, after finishing the drama, I think he did a pretty good job of playing Zhan Shi De, the fact that he was able to give a totally different feeling from what he's like in real life is pretty impressive. Another character that I didn't really like when I first watched this drama was Li Xiao Xing (Gui Gui). She seemed extremely annoying, but I guess just like Zhan Shi De, the more you get to know her, the more likeable she gets. And yeah, I really don't know what to make of Ms. Cherry (Christine Fan), she's a very interesting teacher indeed. Pi Li MIT did a very good job in character development. Every character had a story to tell, which was related to the cases in one form or another, which really kept the drama interesting.

As for the story, I felt that it was rather confusing at the beginning as you're trying to figure out what exactly is going on. However, as you continue watching it, everything seems to start making more sense. The cases weren't all that predictable at the beginning, which to me, was rather fustrating, because I like thinking and I like to be one step ahead of tv characters whenever I watch dramas. However, I think that was the cool thing, since it wasn't boring. There were a couple of cases later on that was a little more predictable, but it was still interesting. Overall, I don't recall there being any boring parts in the story, it was well written.

Life lessons.... well..., I can't really think of any right now. All I can say is that it was good, fun entertainment. I question how realistic it is, but then again, that is exactly why I call it entertainment. Cool drama and definitely worth taking a look at! In fact, I think I'll rewatch it real soon!

TV Series: 太極 The Master of Tai Chi

I won't lie, I watched this drama for Raymond Lam. So...... it was a little disappointing that Raymond Lam wasn't the main character, but all in all, he had a good amount of screen time, so it's all good. haha, that was my two seconds of fan girling, so moving on...

I would say that this was a surprisingly good drama, even without Raymond Lam. What made this drama captivating was character development. I would say that the most obvious one is Mo Ma (Vincent Zhao), starting from a guy who's life is based on vengeance, his life is totally turned around because of Tai Chi and his master Kwan San Yuet (Lau Siu Ming). The story was not boring at all, in fact, I think this was one of the few dramas where I was kept interested thoughout the whole thing. I'd say that this was due to the variety of characters. Each of the characters, Mo Ma (Vincent Zhao), Song Ching (Melissa Ng), Tuen Hiu Sing (Raymond Lam), Yin Chi Kwai (Myolie Wu) and Mai Feng Nin (Kenneth Ma) had their own stories and yet, all together, they are interconnected.

This drama wasn't like the usual martial arts series, it's not all about revenge and finding treasure, or a map or what not. The Master of Tai Chi felt a lot deeper, it kind of serves a reminder as to what's important in life, is it family? Love? Career? Through this drama, you also learn some principals of Tai Chi, and it really does make you reflect on your own life and some of the decisions you make in everyday situtaions. All in all, I don't know if I would say that it's a perfect, ideal story, but is that not life? There's always regrets and imperfections, and as much as we'd like everything to be like a fairy tale, it's not, but what we can do is make the most out of it.

CD: 越來越愛- 飛輪海 Love You More & More-Fahrenheit

I was a little worried when I bought this CD, since I didn't preview it before I bought it. The last 2 CDs weren't that awesome. But wow! This CD is totally a pleasant surprise! I think it was the change in style that made this album so much more attractive, as there were some rock ballads and some slower ballads. I loved all the songs in this CD, my ultimate favourite would be Lonesome Spirit (寂寞暴走), and my least favourite would be Cherish (你應該被珍惜), but it was really hard to find a song that I didn't like in the is CD. This CD allowed for all the members to all have an opportunity to sing solo parts and choruses, and you can hear some evident improvement in the singing of all the members. I honestly can't find anything not to love about this album, it's totally awesome! This CD has definitely made my list of some of my favourite albums of all time.

I bought the Taiwan Commemorate Edition (Special Package), which was pretty cool, since it came with a DVD. The music videos are pretty good, so good that I watch the DVD almost everyday. The folder, stickers and red packets were all right, but I wouldn't say it was worth the extra money that I paid for it. If I was able to go back in time, I would probably get the Hong Kong Commemorate Edition, since it came with the bonus track "Touch Your Heart". Not that the song was extremely good, but I just like having the bonus tracks.

This CD has made me an ultimate Fahrenheit fan, and I would highly recommend anyone to at least give it a try!
